The 2009 Mackenzie Stuart Lecture was delivered by Eleanor Sharpson QC, Advocate General at the Court of Justice of the European Communities on Friday 6th November 2009, and was entitled "Addressing Linguistic Transparency in the ECJ". In the lecture, Eleanor reflected on the challenges facing the European Union operating in a legal environment across a number of different languages.
