CELS is a community of scholars with research interests and expertise spanning a wide range of fields of European and comparative legal enquiry.  In addition to the experts that are members of the Faculty of Law and of the Colleges of the University, CELS has an active visitors programme.  We are also proud of the huge contribution that our graduate students make to the life and intellectual energy of the Centre.

To support the work of the Centre we have a small Management Committee and an Advisory Board that together ensure that CELS fulfils its mission of advancing European legal studies.  Honorary fellowships are awarded to individuals as an indicator both of the contribution they have made to European legal scholarship and of their support and on-going engagement with the work of the Centre.  We are indebted to a number of sponsors and partners who, through financial support, time and intellectual engagement, enrich the research culture of the Centre.
